Environmental Policy
Environmental considerations represent a key issue in today's world and Harmony House Construction is 100% committed to ensuring key principles of ecological sustainability are incorporated in every project we undertake. Responsible construction is a foremost consideration and we aim to deliver energy smart and environmentally responsible solutions in a number of ways:
- Where applicable, projects meet or exceed full compliance with building regulations by integrating the most up to date energy saving techniques
- We integrate technologies and construction methods that reduce the carbon footprint of properties as well as achieving significant reductions in energy bills for our clients by installing:
- quality thermal insulations and where applicable, acoustic insulations, which represent the most simple and cost effective method of reducing energy use
- fuel efficient, A rated heating systems tailored and designed to individual client's needs
- low energy lighting
- low emissive glass
- dual flush cisterns
- rain water management systems where feasible
- Wherever possible, building materials are purchased from local suppliers and sustainable sources
- We actively promote recycling by using recycled products onsite and by reducing our own site waste. All waste is disposed of at approved licensed transfer stations that aim to recycle 80% of all waste and 100% of wood, metal and hardcore
- We aim to manage activities to minimise the effects on the community with regard to noise, odours, air, dust, litter, transportation and parking
- Reducing our carbon footprint is paramount for us, from planning and scheduling of a project through to recycling at our premises. We are a members of the 10:10 campaign: www.1010uk.org
